Skokie Swift CTA Station - Groundbreaking June 21, 2010
The long-awaited Groundbreaking Ceremony for the CTA Skokie Swift Station was held on June 21, 2010. This marked the beginning of construction for the new Station at the intersection of Oakton Street and Skokie Boulevard. Many dignitaries were in attendance from the Village of Skokie as well as Officials from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), CTA and IDOT. The Village eagerly anticipates this station playing a vital role in the growth and accessibility of the area. Drawing more businesses while connecting residents and employees to and from downtown has been a priority of the Village of Skokie for many years.
